In my last blog (on myspace) I mentioned that I was going to Africa with an organization called Habitat for Humanity, who build homes for people without adequate housing. So I thought it would be a good idea to spread the word about the amazing work that they do by giving you my experience on film...

I came away from this trip having learnt a simple yet life changing lesson. I have written and re-written what this lesson is a million times on here, but have come to the conclusion that I don't have the vocabulary adequate enough to get my message across. So I'll let Mother Teresa explain it.....

25th jan // Gibson Guitars support Joe Brooks
Hey all, so lots has happened since my last post, which seems like soooo long ago... hang on... it was soooo long ago. I've done the journey south tour and been to Africa with Habitat for Humanity (see myspace for write up - www.myspace.com/joebrooksmusic). I was recently approached by Gibson and asked to come down to their very 'swarve' London showroom to check out their facilities and guitars... and i definately liked what i saw and played! So as from now, on nearly all occasions, i will be using the lovely sounds of a Gibson Guitar. - www.gibson.com -

Well... so close and yet so much still to be done b4 i jet out to the west coast o de America! Am looking forward to travelling through, in, out, up, down and around California. Leave the UK on the 4th of Sep, which is a Monday me thinks and return back on the 4th of Oct... so exactly a month of fun!


I'm playing 8 venues in total, one of which is a showcase of up coming artists (i believe ill be the only one to represent the talent we got over here in the UK... if that's the case... god help us!). Starting off in San Diego, having a quick night out in Mexico! then flying up to San Francisco. Then i travel down through Yosemite to Las Vagas, then via the Grand Canyon back to LA for 10 days! woop woop

Probably the coolest gig as yet: Hard Rock Cafe for the Popworld 'Unsigned Sessions' Read about it here and more pics if you flick to the pics page on here... oh yer and it says i forgot to plug in my guitar... like fish i did... the sound guy didnt provide me with a lead! It was an awesome night, lots of... wel, shaking hands w/ random ppl lol. And the other bands were so kool and down to earth :) take care :)
